Hello,
I'm new here but I used already for a long time flagFox. I had a question : Could it be possible for you to change displayed map to OSM instead of Gmap ? Indeed, being tracked is not very nice, and I hope promoting free software and alternative tools is one of the goal of the project ?
Thanks in advance for your answer,
frju365
PS: I'm WEB dev and perhaps I can help. I don't know if the sources are available somewhere ?
I'm french : sorry for the mistakes I did.
Change Google Maps to OpenStreetMap
Re: Change Google Maps to OpenStreetMap
I have looked at using OpenStreetMaps on the Geotool site in the past, and it is certainly possible. I haven't decided whether this is something I want to do, or indeed have time to do but it is on the list of possibles.
Just a note to say that the Google Maps implementation on the website does not and is not capable of tracking you. The website just passes latitude and longitude co-ordinates to Google to enable it to display the appropriate map. It receives no information about you.

Re: Change Google Maps to OpenStreetMap
Ok.
Well, OSM is very nice tool. You can use leaflet. It simple (however I don't know how you display the map).
I'm not still a good dev, but I want to learn. So if you need help, it would be a pleasure to help you.
