FLAGFOX VERSION: null (missing IPDB!)

Gentlemen, What should I do. I was only trying to open a web page, and every time I do that, an error comes up.

Read here:
http://flagfox.servehttp.com/forum/view ... ?f=3&t=253

Hopefully one of these days someone will bother to reply with their results. (maybe you?...) Thus far a handful of users have reported this and then I reply and... nothing. If a user at least told me if my suggested fix works then I might have more to go on here.

In any case, this is Firefox 3.x specific code here so it certainly won't be an issue once Firefox 4 is out. The new Addons Manager backend was in part created to hopefully fix this sort of junk.

Please follow the instructions I gave you above. To quote what I referenced above inline:
DaveG wrote:Flagfox is complaining that Firefox is telling it that Flagfox isn't installed, implying corruption in Firefox's Addon Manager. Things to try:
1) Easy route: uninstall Flagfox, restart Firefox, then reinstall Flagfox
2) Another easy route: delete extensions.* in the profile dir to reset the Manager (for more detail, read this)

Please reply back with your results. My guess is this sort of thing might be caused by some other not-quite-right software mucking something up in Firefox's internals. My standby guess is Zonelabs' Forcefield just because I've only heard bad things about it constantly breaking things. (but that's just a shot in the dark) I don't know why there's a handful of people hitting this now; probably just the sort of thing you're more likely to hit on a Firefox update, possibly.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your prompt replay. I try to Delete FlaFox, but another error comes up.

script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:623

Please tell me what to do, I am not a real expert and I do not know what to do

Thanks again

juanbruno: That error is not a Flagfox error; you've got something quite broken in Firefox itself, and Flagfox breaking is a symptom of that. Searching a bit on Google gives me one suggestion: kill the Yahoo! toolbar. Load Firefox into Firefox safe mode to disable or uninstall it. If this works, please tell me. If not, please see the other thread.

You know what I said about the Yahoo! toolbar just above? Forget that; that was a guess.

This, however, is not: if you have both Personas Plus and the Google Toolbar installed you can get the "nsExtensionManager.js:623" error you describe. Disable one or both of them, using Firefox safe mode if needed.

Confirmed that this happened with the new Personas update.

Could not start FF in Safe Mode or even open Add-On Manager because of the script error. "Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:623"

I went to Task Manager and stopped FF from running there. (Windows 7 64 Bit) the re-launched FF in normal mode and everything is working at the moment with Personas still installed and set to the same as it was before the error. Flagfox is working fine also.

Try stopping FF in Task Manager then re-launch it. Worked for me...

I will post back if anything new happens.
