problem with version 3 and newsfox [FIXED]

After installing flagfox version 3.1 I've had problems with newsfox, which I use for rss feeds.

What happens is a slowdown whenever the newsfox tab was visible. There is no problem with other pages.

What happens is:
I have about 30 feeds on newsfox and there is a delay of about 1 sec. on every action taken on the page. I'm back to version 2 and everything is fine.

My guess what happens is that flagfox is trying to display a flag for each feed and causing a delay.
btw I use xpsp2.

asral

Hi Asral

Yeah, looks like there is a conflict. I've installed Newsfox and there is definitely a noticeable delay when Flagfox V3 is also installed.

I'll PM the code maintainer, to make sure he sees this thread. I'm guessing the problem is that the 'URL' for Newsfox is chrome://newsfox/content/newsfox.xul which Flagfox doesn't understand.

Thanks for the feedback.

Richard

Hi there. Thanks for reporting this.

I've done a new profile with 3.0.1 and Newsfox, and the problem shows itself as soon as you load Newsfox up. Easily repeatable. However, when I try with my new 3.0.2 fixes it's much nicer. It seems the "chrome://" issues I fixed apply here too. I'll wrap this version up and get it posted today. After you try the new version, please give it a test.

Thanks Dave.

I've just released version 3.0.2 on the website. I've tried it with Newsfox and it seems to be working fine now.

Asral, can you try out this new version?

Richard

So far no problems using 3.0.2.

As a matter of fact I use quite a lot of extensions (about 60 - didn't count) and no problems.

thanks for the quick update.
