Re: Forecastfox conflict

I just tried: Win32 XP SP2 + Firefox 2.0.0.9 + Flagfox 3.0.7 + Forecastfox 0.9.6 installed in a new profile (run: firefox -profilemanager) The flag updates just fine for me... Does Flagfox work for you in a new profile? Does Flagfox work in a new profile with Forecastfox? (aka are you sure it's Fore...

Re: Possible to get the flags as images.

I use IZArc here, and it can open everything just fine. Don't use WinRAR unless you need to create a RAR. I can right-click an XPI, goto "open with IZArc", then double-click on the JAR, then that'll open, then double-click on any file, and that'll open. I've got version 3.81 build 1550, if it matter...

Re: Possible to get the flags as images.

If it were really invalid or corrupt, the extension wouldn't work... ;)

What program are you using to open archives? (and what OS, for that matter?)

Re: Possible to get the flags as images.

Extracting anything from any Mozilla extension is easy. The XPI file uses standard ZIP compression, so just open it in your default archiver. (you can rename it to a .ZIP if you really feel like it; if you're on Windows, I highly recommend IZArc , though I use 7-Zip to create these files, as it can ...

I've switched to an asynchronous DNS lookup to work correctly with this option, so even if the servers weren't really fast there shouldn't be a stall anymore. It'll just stay as the "unknown site" icon until the lookup comes back.

Re: a temporary stop

Interesting. You didn't even get the stalling problem? I guess if your network's DNS server is fast enough, the lookup delay might not be noticeable. Yes, I was planning on adding an option for this, but I just wanted to get the 3.0.4 fix out there to stop the DNS request from leaking out for people...

Re: a temporary stop

With a proxy, you send the URL request to the proxy (or TOR) and then it does the lookup and gets the page, then sends it back to you. You don't do the DNS lookup in this case, the proxy server does. As far as I know, there's no real way to do an arbitrary DNS lookup over a proxy like this, or at le...

Re: a temporary stop

If one way or another, you're hidden behind a proxy, Flagfox just can't work. It needs DNS to be able to lookup the IP of the site in question, and Proxies prevent that. For an different issue, I was just doing a test, and being fully proxied is a no-go. (routers, NATs, and firewalls should all be f...

Re: a temporary stop

Ditto; I don't get this either. 1) Make sure you're using the latest version, 3.0.3. If not, please update and try again. 2) Test to see if it's an extension conflict. Create a new Firefox profile and install Flagfox in it. (run: firefox -profilemanager) If the bug doesn't happen there, then it's li...
